Education is an interesting word, it means "act or process of educating; instruction." and Educate is to "impart knowledge and training to; develop mentally and morally by instruction." (The New American Webster Handy College Dictionary edited by Albert and Joy Morehead, third edition prepared by Philip D. Morehead, copyright 1995.)
However, when one thinks of "education" in this day and age, it is with a much narrower focus. A focus on Schools. High school, college and graduate programs in particular. I believe that while these are important tools, there are many experiences in one's life that educate us in different ways. These experiences are what forge and shape who we become as people, and long after traditional schooling is over, we are still learning and being shaped by them. I have chosen to add some of my many learning opportunities to my "Education" page, as they reflect on what I have learned over the years.
(I will be adding to this page as
I remember old experiences
and collect new ones!)
